Authorities Respond to Illegal Immigrant Bailout by Nueces River Bridge

The U.S. Border Patrol and San Patricio County Sheriff's Department responded to a bailout at around 10 a.m. Wednesday on FM 666 by the Nueces River Bridge and San Patricio County line.

Authorities reported that 6-8 suspected illegal immigrants jumped out of a vehicle after the vehicle nearly ran another car off the road while going at least 80 miles per hour. The driver of that vehicle was detained, and said he is a U.S. Citizen.

That driver is being held by the San Patricio County Sheriff's Department and could face charges for a traffic violation, driving without a license and an expired vehicle registration.

U.S. Border Patrol agents are still searching for the suspected illegal immigrants who bailed out of the vehicle.
