Back to School Costs

Fall is fast approaching and the kids are going to be hitting the books soon.  So, how much will parents have to pay during the back to school season?
A new survey done by Retail-Me-Not and the Omnibus Company says that families spend an average of 659-dollars throughout the year on academic related costs.
As if stocking up on notebooks, pencils and clothes was not enough, parents should also be thinking about after school activities when budgeting their school year spending.
88 percent of families say their children will participate in some sort of extracurricular activity which can cost on average up to 4-hundred dollars a year.
Also included in the survey is field trips and fund raisers.
Three in four parents said they are spending less on items like clothing, eating out, and vacations to cover those school related costs.
