Back-to-School Immunization Clinics Throughout August

It's almost time for most kids to go back to school, meaning it might be a good time to check out some immunization clinics that will be held throughout August.

The most recent clinic was held Saturday. Parents took advantage of the low-cost clinic at West Oso High School, all courtesy of the Nueces County Public Health Department.

Below is a list of upcoming clinics:

8 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6: Gloria Hicks Elementary, 3602 McArdle Road.

9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8: Flour Bluff High School band hall, 2505 Waldron Road.

8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9: Cornerstone Church, 3409 Waldron Road.

10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16: Miller High School Health Fair, 1 Battlin' Buc Boulevard.

9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23: Corpus Christi Nueces County Public Health Department, 1702 Horne Road.

The clinics are open to school-aged children who meet the following requirements:

A. Enrolled in Medicaid.
B. Is an American Indian, or
C. Is an Alaskan Native, or
D. Does not have health insurance
E. Not accepting CHIPS at this time (must go to doctor's office for immunizations)
F. Is underinsured.

Make sure you bring your child's immunization record, current Medicaid card, cash ($10 a shot and no more than $30 per child), and the parent or guardian must have identification.
