Beeville Police Department Still Looking for Missing K-9

The Beeville Police Department is still looking for their missing K-9 named Irk. The dog went missing at around 6:30 p.m. last Friday.

The dog was with two other dogs when it went missing. They made it out of a fence and escaped their handler's home. The two other dogs were found a half hour later at a cemetery in the 1400 block of East Kennedy in Beeville.

Irk is a three-year old German Shepherd. He is brown and tan and has a collar with a brass name plate that says the City of Beeville Police Department.

Police believe someone out there has the dog.

"If they do have the dog, they need to return it right away. They need to return it immediately. It is police property, and if we can prove that someone is intentionally keeping the dog from the Beeville Police Department , then it's going to be be considered theft."

That charge would be a felony, but police say they just want the dog back as soon as possible, with no questions asked. If you have the dog, or know where it is, call the Beeville Police Department at 361-358-8100.
