Beltran Makes National Splash in Junior Olympics

Lucas Beltran has already had a memorable spring and summer. Just before finishing his sophomore year at Richard King High School, Beltran put on an impressive display in the National Junior Olympic Gymnastic Competition in Long Beach, California.

Beltran, who has been training with local gym coach Garrett Marshall for nearly a decade, is focusing his attention all six areas of concentration in optional competition, including rings, floor exercise, parallel bars, pommel horse, vault, and high bar.

His performance in Long Beach has qualified him to begin training for the Junior Elite Program, which serves as a stepping stone to international and Olympic competition.
