Bids Exceed $1 Million in Nueces Co. Jr. Live Stock Show

A year of preparation and educational scholarship dreams have come to an end for the students involved in the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show.

Organizers say yesterdays final auction netted more than $1.3 million dollars in bids. Among the top blue ribbon prizes were steers, rabbits and swine. The grand champion lamb was purchased for $23, 000 dollars. Proceeds from the event cover operation costs. The rest of the money benefits students in the form of scholarships.
