Blood Drive Held in Honor of Injured Flour Bluff Teen

Austin Garcia, 18, a Flour Bluff senior and captain of his lacrosse team, is continuing to recover in a San Antonio hospital.

Garcia was involved in a near head-on collision in Live Oak County earlier this week, which claimed the lives of two people, including his father, 45-year old Nathaniel Garcia, and the driver of the other vehicle, 25-year old Paul Flores, a Calallen High School graduate.

On Friday, in front of Flour Bluff High School, the Coastal Bend Blood Center held a mobile blood drive in Garcia's honor. Many of his fellow students rolled up their sleeves and made donations in tribute of their classmate.
