Blown Transformer Causes Alice High School to Send Students Home

Students at Alice High School are being sent home for the day due to a power outage caused by what authorities believe to be a blown transformer that filled the halls with smoke.

The school was evacuated and students were taken to the football stadium. Parents have been directed to pick up their kids from the left side of the football stadium.

Alice Police Chief Randy Weems said that it is a non-emergency situation.

Parents are advised to use caution while picking up their kids, as traffic is backing up in the area.
