The Buc Days season has officially arrived.
The Buccaneer Commission non-profit originated in order to raise money to provide local students with college scholarships.
Since 1996, more than $700,000 in scholarships have been distributed to students across the Coastal Bend.
This year 49 scholarships will be distributed, and 20 of those scholarships will go to the contestants of the 2014 Buc Days Scholarship Program.
The top three contestants will receive a $5,000, $3,000 and $2,000 scholarships, plus the top two boys and girls will have the opportunity to complete an internship for a local business.
