Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Honors Student Giancarlo Berrocal to Present Paper at the St. Gallen Symposium in Switzerland
Berrocal is one of 200 students from around the world to receive award
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Giancarlo Berrocal, an honors student at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, is one of 200 outstanding students from 60 countries worldwide invited to participate in the international essay competition of the 38th annual St. Gallen Symposium to be held Thursday, May 15, through Saturday, May 17, in Switzerland.
As a recipient of the St. Gallen Wings of Excellence Award, Berrocal, 20, will receive an expenses paid trip to Switzerland to present his paper “Financial Instruments Innovation: Risk or Negligence?” Berrocal, a junior finance and accounting major, was one of 200 students selected from 1,000 applicants.
“The symposium is an opportunity to be in contact with 600 decision-makers from around the world,” said Berrocal, a native of Lima, Peru. “The St. Gallen Symposium is a platform for constructive multicultural dialogue to discuss highly relevant questions and themes related to political, economic and social contexts.”
The symposium titled “Global Capitalism – Local Values,” organized by the International Students’ Committee (ISC), will bring together hundreds of decision-makers at the University of St. Gallen to address the key issues of management and the interfaces between business, politics and society.
