The leadership of the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce has reportedly put a severance offer on the table for their ousted president and CEO  Terry Carter. The Chamber is clearly trying to make a clean break with Carter, though that may be easier said than done.

Carter told Kiii-TV by phone today that the two sides are still far apart, and that Carter's civil lawsuit against the Chamber, some individual board members and the Caller-Times is still pending.

Carter maintains that his career has been significantly damaged after what he says were false allegations of financial wrongdoing.
