The Corpus Christi Black Chamber of Commerce is soaring to new heights. Last Saturday it celebrated a milestone.

The organization held it's annual black tie gala, celebrating the Chamber's 65Th anniversary. The key note speaker was Chief Justice Wallace B. Jefferson. His address centered on black history and he says it was an honor for him to be in town, sharing the experience with the local Black community.  "I'm excited to be here in Corpus Christi. It's  is a wonderful place to be.  My wife Rhonda and I come here often with our three sons and you treat us with such hospitality. This is a wonderful occasion."

Jefferson is the first African American Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court.
