CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - Highway 77 neighbors Calallen and Robstown each earned dominating wins Friday afternoon at the Calallen Baseball Tournament.
Calallen's Derek Scheible shut down the Ray Texans in a 7-2 'Cats win. Calallen remained perfect in pool play with the win heading in to play Friday night.
The Robstown Cotton Pickers busted out the sticks against Hidalgo pitcher Kike Mendoza in a 14-3 win in five innings. Robstown improved to 2-1 in pool play as the Pickers try to reach the semifinals Saturday. The tournament championship will be played at 5:30 p.m. at Calallen High School.
