Campaign Kicks Off to Teach Kids to Pickup Trash

Teaching little ones the importance of picking up their trash was at the heart of a new campaign that kicked off Monday at Windsor Park Elementary.

The new program is called Pick Up Schools, and the idea is to teach the students the importance of keeping their school clean, and caring about its appearance.

Games and prizes are used to help motivate the youngsters. The program also stresses the importance of recycling and composting.

"I think the Pick Up Schools program is important because it just makes kids want to pick up trash," said Milo Rodgers, a third grader at Windsor Park Elementary.

School officials said parents can help out too, by helping reinforce these new cleanup lessons in their home as well.
