Carroll Blanks Victoria East in Season Opener

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - It took awhile for the Carroll offense to get going, but it eventually erupted in a 6-0 win over Victoria East Monday at Whataburger Field.

The teams went scoreless for five and a half innings before the Tigers exploded for all six of their runs in the sixth-inning. Carroll got a solid pitching performance from senior Rene Pineda, who tossed a shutout.

The Tigers will head to Laredo for the Border Olympics Tournament later this week starting on Thursday.
