Corpus Christi is now under Stage 1 Water Restrictions. That means voluntary water conservation is in place and the combined capacity of Lake Corpus Christi & Choke Canyon has been above 50% capacity for at least 15 days.
There are various affordable, and even free, ways to reduce water consumption and conserve. Something as simple as turning off running water while brushing your teeth or shaving can save. The Corpus Christi Water Dept. even hands out free water saving devices. Meteorologist Alan Holt met with Brent Clayton, a project manager for the Corpus Christi Water Dept. specializing in water resources this morning on First Edition.
