The Corpus Christi Police Department spent New Year's weekend rounding up folks who hit the roads intoxicated.
Overall during a period of three days, from Dec. 28 until 9 a.m. Tuesday, the CCPD said they arrested 23 drivers suspected of driving under the influence. One of them was under the legal drinking age, and 19 of them were first-time DWI offenses.
They also said they received 143 fireworks complaints for the New Year's holiday.
Green-N-Go Cabs reported that they gave 216 free cab rides on New Year's Eve for those who had just a little bit too much to drink while celebrating.
