CCPD Calls For More Females in the Force

The Corpus Christi Police Department is in need of more females to join the force.

A seminar was held Saturday urging more women to join the CCPD.

Sergeant Denice Pace said women bring a different skill set to the field than man. She said they are good communicators and good problem solvers.

There are currently nine female police cadets out of 25 total, graduating from the Corpus Christi Police Academy Friday.

This graduating class has one of the largest female population, however Pace said there is still a need for more female officers because there is less than 10 percent of women in the CCPD.
