CCPD Holds Retirement Ceremony as Friends Depart Force

The Corpus Christi Police Department is wishing a fond farewell to some of their own who have decided to retire after years of service.

Some twenty officers and civilian workers with the Police Department were recognized for their hard work through the years, many working at the department for over 30 years.

Among those retiring was well-known Lt. Gary Hill. He said, though he is looking forward to spending more time with his grandchild, he will miss what he calls "his second family."

"Like I said, 39 years. It's a family," Hill said. "But I'm excited for my next venture."

"Oh, I'm going to miss it a lot," said Lt. Raymond Lara, also retiring from the CCPD. "They are going to do great."

"It was great seeing all my old friends," said Senior Officer Albert Perez, another retiree. "You get to know them pretty well."

Kiii News would like to wish all those hanging it up on Friday a happy and relaxing retirement. Thank you for your service.
