CCPD Lieutenant Rescues Toddlers Locked in Vehicle

Two small children were accidentally locked inside of a sport utility vehicle at around 4 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of the Walmart in the 4100 block of Staples Street.

The mother of the children was with them the whole time, but was locked out while loading groceries into her vehicle. While waiting on Pop-a-Lock, Corpus Christi Police Lt. Sergio Delgado decided it was best to go ahead and get the children out. He busted out a window and pulled the two toddlers to safety.

The toddlers were checked out at the scene are said to be okay. Lt. Delgado received a few cuts on his arm from shards of glass and received medical attention at the scene.
