CCPD Reports Increased Number of Heat-Related Illness

The Corpus Christi Police Department has seen an increase in the number of heat-related emergency calls over the last couple of weeks.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, extreme heat causes more deaths yearly than hurricanes, tornados and other natural disasters combined.

Kiii News Reporter Anayeli Ruiz spoke with officials to find out what is going on and how you can prevent yourself from having a heat stroke.
