Cell Phone Found Recording in Bathroom of Kwik Wash Laundromat

For the third time in six weeks, a cell phone has been found hidden inside a public bathroom, this time at the Kwik Wash laundromat in the 11300 block of Leopard in Annaville.

The 54-year old woman who owns the laundromat said the cell phone was found around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, and that it was recording video.

According to detectives, the phone was found when a worker had removed a bundle of paper towels that were wedged under the sink. In doing so, the female employee saw the black flip phone facing the toile, noticed the light on the phone showing that it was recording, and called the police.

Police are currently investigating the case.

Just last month, a recording device was found at the Starbucks on SPID and Staples; and two weeks ago, another cell phone was found at a Stripes store.

There's been no word as to whether or not the incidents are connected. If you have any information that can help police, please call Crime Stoppers at 361-888-8477.

Police say if you go into a restroom, look for things that don't belong or seem out of place. If you do use a public restroom or fitting room, always be aware of your surroundings.
