Charges Against Former Kingsville Police Officer Dropped

All charges have been dropped against a former Kingsville police officer accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl. According to District Attorney John Hubert, the case was dismissed because the alleged 14-year-old victim recanted her accusations. Last April, 41-year-old David Cerda turned himself in after that teenager, a student at Ricardo Elementary, said he touched her inappropriately. All charges against the six-year police veteran have been dropped.
