City Council to Consider Community Paramedicine Program

Council members will consider a new program Tuesday aimed at reaching out to those in Corpus Christi and the rest of the county who are frequent callers of 911 for medical problems.

Those problems could be anything from chronic back pain to fevers, and as you can imagine, the frequency of those calls can significantly increase the workload on emergency personnel.

Council will vote on whether or not to accept a $500,000 grant from the City-County Health Department to begin a community paramedicine program.

Kiii News Reporter Brian Burns looked into the new program and its goal, and came back to the newsroom with the details.
