City Marshal Returns Patrol Car to Office During Investigation

According to officials, City Marshal Michael De La Garza returned his patrol car to the police department Friday after he was told he could not keep it parked outside of his home.

Municipal court officials said they had gotten word that De La Garza, who is on paid administrative leave pending an investigation, was keeping the vehicle parked outside of his home. Once they learned about it, they called him and told him to return it back to the office.

Meanwhile, the City's human resources department is still looking into his case. Texas Rangers and Corpus Christi police are investigating claims that someone in the Marshal's Office had impersonated a police officer.
