The city of Alice initiated a "Fitness in the Park" program in July 2013 hosting a boot camp clinic three days a week.
The program is hosted by the city and the instructor Rondo Garza, is retired military who runs a tight class at Anderson Park.
He says the class has made fitness opportunities more available to the public, especially when gym memberships or private group classes cost can add up.
The class which runs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 6 a.m., 8 a.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. only costs $20 a month.
Garza says it is a great way for the community to get in shape and stay healthy.
There are about 80 to 100 participants involved and several have vouched for the program saying they have lost inches and pounds since starting the routine.
