City of Alice Down to Two Finalists for City Manager

The City of Alice is getting closer to hiring a new city manager. Two finalists were brought in Monday for a second round of City Council interviews.

One of them is Tom Ginter, who in the past has served as city manager in Aransas Pass and Beeville. The other candidate is David Harris, who has served as assistant city manager in the city of Schertz, Texas, just northeast of San Antonio.

"Alice is a diverse community. It's a growing community," Alice Mayor Pro-Tem Michael Esparza said. "Our sales tax revenue is good and so it's, there's a lot of needs here. There's a lot of infrastructure needs as well, so these candidates have some experience in that and that's what we're looking for."

The city manager position has been vacant since the Alice City Council fired Ray De Los Santos, Jr. last November.
