City Workers Keep on Schedule Despite Cold Work Conditions

Most Coastal Bend residents were doing their best on Monday to stay indoors away from the cold, but can you imagine having to work outdoors in those conditions?

"Put some padded gloves on, put a jacket on," said Clarence Clark, brush superintendent for the City of Corpus Christi. "We're okay. We'll still stay on schedule."

Workers from the City's Solid Waste Department were working in the Molina neighborhood on Monday, wearing layers of clothing to cover as much of their body as they could. As often as work would allow, the work crews retreated from the cold weather to the warmth of their vehicles.

About four crews were out working the streets Monday.
