Getting your kids ready to head back to the classroom also means making sure they have all of their shots.
Lala Yerger said, "we're having a back to school clinic. We're giving the parents a last opportunity to get children their shots before the first day of school, so that the kids don't have to miss any school."
Saturday, parents took advantage of the low cost clinic held at the Nueces County Public Health Department on Horne Road.
It was for kids ages 4-18 who are enrolled in Medicaid or don't have health insurance.
CCISD actually gives kids a ten day grace period to get caught up on all their shots---but organizers say the sooner the better.
