Commission Talks Rezoning for New Southside Entertainment Facility

The City's Planning Commission discussed Wednesday a proposed multi-use entertainment center that would require some rezoning in the area of Staples and Yorktown.

The entertainment complex would include things like a movie theater and bowling alley. It would sit between the Asbury United Methodist Church and a storage unit business, but right now, that strip of land is zoned  for multifamily use and not commercial use.

Residents in the area said they would welcome the development on that empty plot of land, but some are concerned about the traffic that such an entertainment complex would create.

Kiii News Reporter Bill Churchwell went Live from City Hall with the details.
