Investigators looking for leads in homicide near Sandia

The Nueces County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting death of a 43-year-old man whose body was found by his roommate Tuesday evening at their residence in the 6300 block of Javelina Creek, near Sandia, Texas.

NUECES COUNTY (KIII NEWS) - The Nueces County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting death of a 43-year-old man whose body was found by his roommate Tuesday evening at their residence in the 6300 block of Javelina Creek, near Sandia, Texas.

Officers said dispatch received a call around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday from the victim's female roommate, who said she had been out of town and when she returned, she found his body. Preliminary findings upon examination of the body showed what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the victim's head.

Authorities said they spent most of the night chasing leads in the case, and that there appears to be a vehicle missing from the home. They are currently trying to locate the vehicle, as well as the female roommate who has since gone missing, according to officers. They are also looking for another person of interest.
