Olympia Drive assault suspect turns himself in to police

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - 35-year-old Oscar Merado-Chapa, the man wanted in a case of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon Sunday on Olympia Drive, turned himself in to the Nueces County Jail at around 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The assault occurred at around 9:30 a.m. Sunday in the 4900 block of Olympia Drive. Police said the offender kicked in the front door of the residence and shot the 30-year-old male victim in the stomach with a handgun. Police issued a warrant for Chapa's arrest Monday for burglary with the intent to commit a felony and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
