Police Looking for Distinct Black Truck Involved in Sunday Hit and Run

Police have released surveillance images of a vehicle involved in a Sunday evening hit and run at Harmon and Mary Street that injured a 56-year old woman.

It was just after 7 p.m. when witnesses tell police they saw a black truck traveling west on Mary Street when it ran a four-way stop sign at the intersection. Witnesses said the truck stopped and reversed, backing into the 56-year old woman as she crossed the street. The truck then drove forward, hitting the woman again and dragging her under the vehicle.

The woman suffered injuries to her hip and lower leg, but is expected to be okay.

Police said the driver was described as a male between 30-40 years of age. He wore a tan straw cowboy hat. He was driving a black Chevrolet truck with chrome on the wheel wells and step sides. The vehicle was low and had distinct chome flaring on its fenders. It also had large nerf bars and appeared to have low-profile tool box in its bed.

The truck was last seen driving south on Harmon Street. If you have seen the vehicle or can identify the owner, please call the Corpus Christi Police Department's hit and run detectives at 361-886-2689, or call Crime Stoppers at 361-888-8477.
