Police looking for person of interest in Mesa Drive homicide

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Corpus Christi police are treating a case involving the suspicious dead of a 44-year-old man as a possible homicide. They released images Friday of a person of interest they are looking for.

The victim's body was found just after 8 p.m. Thursday at a home in Annaville with a gunshot wound to the head. Police had received a call from the man's family after not hearing from him for several days.

Detectives are searching for a 2005 black Ford Expedition that was reported stolen from the home, and they said there is a high possibility the man's death was an act of foul play. The vehicle is a 2005 black Ford Expedition possibly with tinted windows. The license plate is a Texas LP displaying CHW7617 and has been reported stolen.

Resident's in the area are concerned for their safety because of the incident. The community has even formed a watch group to keep each other posted on what's going on in their neighborhood.

Authorities have not confirmed the identity of the victim, but his neighbor, Janie Martinez, said he was a polite man who often kept to himself.

If you have any information that can help investigators, you are urged to call police at 361-886-2600.
