Warrant issued for suspect in Olympia Drive assault

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - A warrant has been issued for the suspect that police say was involved Sunday in a case of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon at 4900 Olympia Drive.
It happened around 9:30 a.m. Police said the offender kicked in the front door of the residence and shot the 30-year-old male victim in the stomach with a handgun. Police are now looking for 35-year-old Oscar Merado-Chapa on a warrant for burglary with the intent to commit a felony and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The bond has been set at $40,000.
