Dallas-Based Developer Breaks Ground for New Housing at TAMUK

Thanks to Domus Development, a Dallas-based company, some housing relief may be in sight for students at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. TAMUK President Steven Tallant said he is happy that the company is investing in the community.

Construction is now underway at the 23-acre site located on 1400 West Santa Gertrudis. The developer said the leasing office will be open in November of this year, and that college students will be able to move in beginning in August of 2015.

"It's almost across the street from the campus, and one of the reasons they chose this area is because of the proximity, and students will be able to walk across the street and have classes and go where they want to," Tallant said. "So this is totally private, but it's something we've wanted."
