Del Mar Holds Success Day Event for High School Students

About 800 South Texas High School students were invited to check out their options for higher learning on the West Campus of Del Mar College on Thursday.

"I was looking at the welding body work," high school student Christian Del Real said. "All the industrial stuff. Mechanics."

Representatives from 40 Del Mar programs made themselves available to kids coming from more than 19 South Texas high schools. The event was offered as a chance to give students options as they search for the career path they want to follow.

"I think this is important because some kids don't get to experience this," King High School student Chelsea Camacho said. "They have a lot of activities to try and learn and you get interested in that field that they are offering, so I think it is interesting."
