Depression in Southern Gulf of Mexico Becomes Tropical Storm Ingrid

A tropical depression in the southern Gulf of Mexico has now been upgraded to Tropical Storm Ingrid. Landfall is expected to happen in Mexico over the weekend.

As the storm makes landfall, tropical moisture will be fed into South Texas, resulting in a significant increase in the chance for rain beginning Sunday and lasting through the middle of next week. Corpus Christi could get an additional two-four inches of rain.

Of course, with an already saturated ground due to recent rains, flooding may be an issue.

Keep up to date with Ingrid's activities at our Hurricane Center.
