Donna Lowery Going Home for the First Time Since Her Illness

After being in a coma for weeks, losing her limbs and months of rehabilitation, 57-year old Donna Lowery was given a big send-off Friday as she finally returned home.

Lowery said farewell to her second family -- the nurses, therapists and employees of the Corpus Christi Rehabilitation Hospital. They lined the hallways to say goodbye.

"I'm so excited Rudy. This is a big day for me," Lowery said. "After so many months of therapy, to be able to walk out the door when I was delusional coming in."

However, Lowery isn't saying goodbye for long. She will be returning to visit patients and continue with her own rehabilitation.

Lowery said she has received well wishes from all across the country after her story aired on 3News this past Wednesday.
