Downed Power Line Causes Small Grassfire on Leopard Street

Corpus Christi police believe a truck transporting a house or tall object clipped a power line in the 6300 block of Leopard Street just after 11 a.m. Thursday, causing a small grass fire in the area.

American Electric Power Texas crews were sent to the scene to repair the power line. Meanwhile, police had to shut down the westbound lanes of traffic between Corn Products and Lexington.

Power was out to the immediate areas including the Executive Inn Motel.
