Dozens Walk in Relay For Life at the Island University

Over at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, dozens of students and community members walked for a cure Saturday.

Bob Himes, a cancer survivor, says "It's an honor for me to walk a survivor lap. I'm not suppose to be here by all odds."

Bob is one of just over 200 people who gathered for this Relay For Life event. The walk benefits the American Cancer Society. Money raised will go to cancer research and help future cancer victims.

"To help cancer survivors, my medication, my chemo was 22-thousand dollar treatment.," says Bob. "I had seven of them most people can't afford that, they help with some of that."

Bob has been cancer free now for nine years. The walk continued until six Sunday morning.
