Driver Allegedly Distracted by Radio Causes Four-Vehicle Accident

Corpus Christi police say a distracted driver is to blame for a four-car accident that happened at around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday on Weber Road, near Tiger Lane.

Police said the driver of the vehicle that began the chain reaction accident was trying to change stations on the car radio. Officers say you should never let your eyes leave the road when you are driving.

"You've just got to be aware," said Senior Officer Ralph Torres of the Corpus Christi Police Department. "Be aware of what you are doing, your surroundings, and try to pay attention to the road more than the stereo or your phone, and that kind of stuff."

Two citations were given to the driver who caused the accident -- one for failing to control speed, and another for not having insurance.
