Driver Uninjured After Crashing Through Fence, Into Pool

A driver was a bit shaken up early Thursday morning after crashing her truck through a fence and into a residential swimming pool. She was trying to avoid a coyote in the road.

Luckily, no one was home at that time of the incident, but the pool did receive some major damage.

Police and firefighters arrived at the home in the 4700 block of Brentridge, near Yorktown and Weber, shortly after 3 a.m. That's where they found the black four-door Toyota Tacoma inside of the homeowner's pool.

"We saw coyotes when we were coming up here. They saw three coyotes also," said Captain Patrick Brennan of the Corpus Christi Fire Department.

Firefighters said that, because of the damage to the pool, the water would have to be sucked out. The accident had torn out all of the pool equipment, so it would need to be cleaned out and the pool pump would need repairs.

It took nearly two hours for crews to extricate the truck. The fire department had to tear down the fence to get it out of the pool.

As for the driver, she was uninjured from the accident and taken home by police. Officers said no charges would be files.
