Early Morning Accident Claims Life of Local Woman

A 63-year old Corpus Christi woman is dead after flipping her car, partially ejecting herself.

The crash happened just before 2 a.m.

Investigators say the woman driving lost control traveling along Morgan near Port.

Lieutenant Lauren White says the car ended up in the Bonilla parking lot after striking several objects first.

"It hit an electrical pole. It hit a fire hydrant and it also hit a tree," White said.

Power was not affected in the area.

The 63-year old has not been identified.

Lieutenant White says she was not wearing a seatbelt.
