(KIII-TV) Children in the Coastal Bend, who are home-bound due to a serious illness, will now have a chance to attend class without having to leave their house or hospital bed.
The "V-Go" robots are video enabled machines that allow a student to control what it does in a classroom, all while the child watches on a monitor.
The Education Service Center has already purchased two of the devices, and on Friday, the group got some help from a girl battling a cancer since 2010.
7 years old Brooke Hester, who has been battling a disease called neuroblastoma, donated $6,000 from her foundation to purchase a third "V-Go" robot for the school kids.
The group is continuing to raise additional funds.
