The polls be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Find your polling locations according to precinct and information on the Voter I. D. Law, on the website www.co.nueces.tx.us under the elections tab.
There you can find not just your polling locations but see what your ballot will look like and any more voting information.
The primary elections are run by the democratic and republican parties. The county only counts the ballots and administers the voting equipment.
When you go to vote, you need to know which party you will be voting for because the ballots are not consolidated, there wouldn't wait in the wrong line.
Make sure to bring a form of identification and your voter registration card. The new Voter I. D. Law requires a form of identification to vote.
There are seven valid forms of identification that can be used which include:
- Driver license
- Concealed handgun license
- Personal identification card
- Election identification certificate
- U.S. Military identification card
- U.S. Citizen certificate
- U.S. Passport
If you don't have identification when you vote, you can cast your vote as a provisional vote. Then you have until March 10th to go to the voter registration office at the Nueces County Courthouse to prove your identification.
If your name on your voter registration card does not match the name of the voting card at the polling site, you can still vote.
The situation is deemed a similar name scenario, where you just initial an affidavit at the polling location.
