Families Gather at Veterans Cemetery for Fourth of July

For many, the Fourth of July is also a good time to remember the sacrifice that our military heroes have made over the years.

A number of military families gathered at the veterans cemetery off I-37, near the Joe Fulton Corridor, Thursday to pay their respects.

Among them was Betty Post, whose longtime husband, Jimmy Post, served in the U.S. Navy.

"He was my husband, for, how many years, 66 years. That's pretty good right," Post said.

"Daddy was very patriotic. We can't go through this holiday without thinking about him and his service, and his love for his country," said Pat Russel, the daughter of Jimmy Post.

Jimmy and Betty had three daughters together and lots of grandchildren.
