She was a mother, a wife and a friend to everyone she met and dozens of your neighbors rallied together to help find a cure for the cancer that took her life.
It was all part of the first annual "Alma's Angel's Walk for a Cure."Organizers say they are trying to raise funds to donate to a cancer research center.
The walk, which took place on Shoreline near the American Bank Center, is in memory of Alma Gonzales who tragically lost her battle with pancreatic cancer three months ago.
Erica Escatiola, who is the daughter of Alma Gonzales says, "She was an overall wonderful person, who was never selfish."
Escatiola further added that she knew that her mother was there with her friends and relatives today.
Organizers say they are going to make this a yearly event and plan to help the walks on each Saturday after Thanksgiving Day.
