Family Loses Home After Fire Breaks Out

One Corpus Christi family living on the south side of town is homeless following a fire. The blaze started just after 2:30 at Treyway Terrace Apartments on Treyway and Holly. No one was home at the time of the fire. Neighbors say the occupants are out of town. Investigators say the fire was quickly contained, however, there is significant damage.

"That apartment is not livable," said Dough Mathijetz, Battalion Chief. "Yes, there is quite a bit of damage. Mainly to the main bedroom. All fire damage in bedroom areas of house."

Two of the family's dogs are missing. They did make it out of the fire, but ran off. The cause of the fire is unknown.
