Corpus Christi Firefighters were busy battling a two blazes that broke out at businesses on the south side of town. A fire broke out at a cabinet shop on Ayers near Frederick around 11 last night. Residents at a nearby apartment complex saw smoke and flames and called 9-1-1. The blaze spread to another business adjacent to the cabinet shop. Battallion Chief Frank Rodriguez says it is unclear how the blaze started.

"There is a lot of shavings there and stuff. A lot of lacquer and materials like that, so we are not ruling anything out, but at this time it does not appear to be arson," said Rodriguez.

No one was injured. The fire was contained within 20 minutes. The owners of the cabinet shop say the will be looking at their security system to see what happened.
